a Sneak peak into the process of painting the birds of paradise flowers that we have hanging on our dinning room.
I decided to paint it in 2 separate canvases and that way play with the painting when it comes to placement, etc.
I used acrylic because I was not willing to deal with the complications of oil (turpentine, long time to dry, etc) but I found myself with a giant challenge: trying to blend :s Because acrylic dries so fast it is difficult to blend colors and making it look smooth, there are things you can buy to help with the process of blending but since I am in a budget I decided to try it out without it. Since then I have practiced and learned how to do it… although I still get frustrated and extremely concentrated when I use this type of paint (my husband found that out a couple of days ago lol but the good thing is he was trying to paint with acrylic too so he understood my frustration)
(I don’t know why the picture of the left canvas came out looking so odd.. sorry about that)
This was in the living room of my old apartment, now we have the painting in the dinning room and recently decided that will be our “summer” painting and change them with every season
